Final Cut Pro offers native support for an expansive range of formats:

|
Unlike other solutions, Final Cut Pro acquires HDV media via FireWire
and keeps it in the original format, transferring it into the system
without any generation loss. Output via FireWire back to an HDV camera
or deck, or transfer your native HDV to DVD Studio Pro 4 for an
end-to-end native HDV workflow.
You can also edit native IMX video from XDCAM and eVTR devices with
Final Cut Pro. Using software from Telestream (sold separately),
video is acquired and the file is flipped from MXF to QuickTime,
providing Final Cut Pro with the necessary camera native IMX files
for editing. Final Cut Pro is compatible with 30-, 40-, and 50Mbps
IMX media.
Embrace the latest industry trends toward tapeless workflows.
• Final Cut Pro support for high-speed acquisition lets you transfer files from Panasonic P2 devices faster than real time.
• File transfer from MXF to QuickTime provides Final Cut Pro with the
necessary camera-native DVCPRO, DVCPRO50 or DVCPRO HD files for editing.
• Native XDCAM HD Support
Take advantage of Sony`s groundbreaking XDCAM HD format.
With native editing support for 1080i 50/60, 1080 24p and VFR video
from XDCAM HD devices, Final Cut Pro gives news editors and independent
filmmakers the tools they need to tell incredible stories. Ingest and
output of XDCAM HD video requires software from SONY.
